Privacy at Ekkoe
Last updated August 27, 2026 · Ekkoe
This Privacy Policy explains what data Ekkoe collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. Ekkoe is a business tool for customs professionals; the trade data you submit is handled to serve your organization and is never sold.
1. Scope
This policy applies to Ekkoe’s website and application. It covers account holders and their authorized users. Where you use Ekkoe on behalf of an organization, that organization is the controller of the trade data it submits, and Ekkoe processes it on the organization’s behalf.
2. Information we collect
Account information (name, work email, company, role); the trade content you submit for classification and drafting (product descriptions, HTS codes, importer and party details, origin, values, and uploaded documents such as invoices and packing lists); workspace configuration (importers, saved cases, decisions); and standard product and device telemetry (log data, usage events, IP address) used to operate and secure the service.
3. How we use your information
To provide the service — classify imports, estimate duty, flag trade-remedy programs, draft entry paperwork, and monitor trade-policy changes relevant to your clients and prior decisions; to operate, secure, and improve the platform; to communicate with you about your account; and to comply with legal obligations.
4. AI processing and providers
To generate classifications and drafts, Ekkoe sends the relevant portions of your submitted content to third-party large-language-model providers. Today the AI Customs Broker uses OpenAI, and certain other engine features use DeepSeek. Your content is sent solely to produce your results. Ekkoe does not sell your data and does not use your trade data to train its own models. For the current data-processing terms with our providers, contact us.
5. Service providers and sub-processors
We use vetted providers to run Ekkoe, including Supabase for authentication and database storage, Vercel for application hosting, and the AI providers above. These providers process data only to provide services to us. Ekkoe also reads from public government sources (USITC, USTR, CBP CROSS, OFAC, the Consolidated Screening List, the Federal Register); no personal data is sent to those sources.
6. How we share information
Within your organization, according to the roles you configure; with the service providers above; and where required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information or your trade data, and we do not use your submitted trade data to serve other customers.
7. Data security and isolation
We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and database row-level security so each organization’s data is isolated from others. Broker decisions are recorded in an append-only, tamper-evident audit log. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to promptly address issues.
8. Data retention
Entry-related records are retained to support the five-year customs recordkeeping requirement (19 CFR Part 163), and may be retained for the applicable window even after account closure. Other account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, unless you request earlier deletion, subject to legal retention obligations.
9. Your rights and choices
You may access, export, correct, or request deletion of your account data by emailing useekkoe@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) or the EU/UK GDPR, including rights of access, deletion, and portability; we honor applicable requests.
10. International data transfers
Ekkoe’s infrastructure and providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required for cross-border transfers, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the applicable standard contractual clauses.
11. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to sign you in and keep the app working, and limited analytics to understand product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in.
12. Children
Ekkoe is a business product and is not directed to, or intended for use by, anyone under 18.
13. Changes and contact
We may update this policy; the “last updated” date reflects the latest version, and material changes will be communicated. Questions or requests: useekkoe@gmail.com.
